In Honor of Officer Curtis Bartlett
Curtis Bartlett, a young veteran, police officer, school resource officer, fitness instructor, son, brother, and friend was killed in the line of duty in March of 2017, protecting the citizens of Carroll County.
Curtis was the founder of the organization "Police Fitness", which encouraged individuals, especially first responders, to be the absolute best that they can be. He was an inspiration for many, encouraging them to either lose weight, get stronger, or simply have a more positive view of themselves.
Curtis lived by the motto, "Live Inspired" everyday. In his footsteps, Police Fitness will continue to promote the well- being among the citizens, young adults, and first responders in the community.
Partnering with Body Building.com, the "Lift/Life Foundation", and Police Fitness, Galax High School is excited to announce the opportunity to open the Curtis Bartlett Fitness Center. This Center will allow local students to work out, and be in the best shape they can be.
But, this center isn't just for students. This "Fit to Serve" facility will be a place first responders can visit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These responders work all hours of the day, and times for personal improvements are limited. This facility will allow them to work out when they are available to truly be "Fit to Serve."
We need help! The Lift/Life Foundation, along with bodybuilding.com, is generously donating almost half of the cost of this Fitness Center! We are so thankful and very excited. But in order to make this dream a reality, we need our small community, our local online followers, the Police Fitness family and the community Body Building.com has built online, to step up and pitch in.
Any amount you can contribute to this project would be very much appreciated. In fact, you would be added to list of thousands who are going to help Curtis's legacy of truly living inspired.
